HOW TO HELP

Campus Needs

If you would like to help us with our ministry through providing food and household items, here is an up-to-date list of items needed. These items, along with those on our Amazon Registry, are specific requests of our families on campus. Thank you for your support!

EQUINE NEEDS LIST

One of the blessings of being at Southern Christian is our ranch and equine therapy program. Through working with our horses, our kids learn valuable leadership abilities, responsibility, and practical skills. We keep this program running through our talented staff and support from our dedicated donors.

TRUCK ROUTE

In the late 1920’s, John Slater was employed to drive a truck throughout the state to collect food for the newly established Arkansas Children’s Home. Though time has passed and our name has changed, Southern Christian Home is still proud to have the strong support of churches in Arkansas, Tennessee, and Louisiana that help provide for the needs of our children.

In addition to allowing Southern Christian to benefit from your Amazon.com purchases, you can directly purchase items that our cottages have requested and have them shipped to Morrilton!

Mentoring

What is the Mentor Program?

Our mentor program is designed to provide a child with a special friend aside from family or staff. Our hope is, that with each child in our care, a mentor will establish a close personal relationship and provide our children with opportunities they might not otherwise receive. In this way Mentorship is an augment and support to the daily care of those at Southern Christian. It is also an opportunity for a volunteer to enrich their own life by sharing it with a child. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, email: abigailp@schome.org.
